13-00: Sickness is a blessing?

A few weeks after the babies were born, I was scouting out a little pond a few thousand feet from the homestead (I stopped counting after 1000 since it seemed redundant). In the pond I found the leftovers of what looks like some kind of 4 legged animal. It was missing the head and one leg. I dragged it home and left it with the other animals I had killed. We cooked some meat up that night and it tasted a little "off". Next morning I am running a fever and puking all over. Eve isn't feeling too well either. Thankfully, the little ones seem fairly unaffected since they are still nursing from mama. Having been sick the first time, I don't want to have to go through that again! It was not a fun day! We burned the rest of that animal in the fire as soon as I was feeling strong enough to drag it there. It smelled even worse than when I had pulled it from the pond. Dog seems to like some of the scraps though. I found out the bones don't burn well, and dog likes to chew them. They make noise when I bang them on rocks. Boomp, boomp, boomp. Was this how music was invented? I've noticed that when we cook things in water, they seem to get softer, so I'll use this curvy monkey head bone I found as a bowl/pot and let the other animal bone do a long soak over the heat and see what happens. The soup tastes pretty good. I don't think I would have even thought about looking at the bones before I got sick. Soup is warm and tasty and helps our stomachs settle and not feel so nauseous. We prayed to Father and gave thanks for health and for not being sick for too long!
